Taking Action on Lead

Champaign Unit 4 School District is committed to student and staff safety. As part of this commitment, and in compliance with new state law, Champaign Unit 4 tested for lead in the water at our early childhood and elementary schools.

Bottenfield teacher Amber Owens one of 15 Illinois teachers selected for policy fellowship

Amber Owens, music teacher at Bottenfield Elementary School, has been named a Fellow with the Teach Plus Illinois Teaching Policy Fellowship, a highly selective teacher leadership program. The program trains current classroom teachers to advocate on behalf of policies that impact their students while continuing to teach full-time. Owens is one of only 15 teachers in Illinois selected for the 2017-18 Fellowship.

District awarded $9.6 million magnet grant

Champaign Unit 4 School District has been awarded a $9.6 million grant by the U.S. Department of Education through the Magnet School Assistance Program (MSAP).

Central High School to dismiss early, Tuesday September 26

Due to the combined temperature and humidity inside the building, Champaign Central High School will dismiss at 1:05 p.m. today, September 26, 2017. Athletic and band practice schedules will follow high-heat guidelines. Coaches and directors will communicate with participants about any changes to their schedules.

Your child may leave the building at 1:05 using their own transportation. MTD and yellow buses will be available.

Due to the projected forecast for tomorrow's temperature, Champaign Central High School will dismiss at 1:05 pm. tomorrow, September 22, 2017. Athletic and band practice schedules will follow high-heat guidelines. Coaches and directors will communicate with participants about any changes to their schedules. Yellow buses and MTD will be available for bus riders.
