Getting Involved - Mentoring and Volunteering

Introduction

Our schools thrive when the community comes together! By mentoring or volunteering, you can make a meaningful impact on students’ lives, whether by offering guidance, sharing your expertise, or simply lending a helping hand. Your time and dedication help create a supportive and enriching learning environment for all.

There are many ways to get involved, from tutoring and classroom assistance to chaperoning fieldtrips and helping with special events. No matter your skills or schedule, there’s an opportunity for you to make a difference. Join us in shaping the future, one student at a time!

Mentoring in Unit 4 Schools

Mentors play a key role in our schools, making a positive difference for students. C-U One-to-One is a school based mentoring program which began in 1994. It is a relationship-building program designed to build student's self-confidence and encourage them to stay in school and graduate. We currently have over 400 mentors in Unit 4 schools. Mentors meet with their "mentees" for one hour a week during the school day on school grounds. If you have a genuine interest in youth, flexibility, good listening skills and can follow through on your commitments, mentoring may be right for you! For additional information and an application, visit the C-U One-to-One website at www.cu1to1.org or contact:

Volunteering in Unit 4 Schools

Volunteers are welcomed at all Unit 4 schools. Each year over 2,000 volunteers donate over 50,000 hours of time to our schools. Public school districts cannot succeed in their mission without the dedication and support of the volunteers who work in our classrooms. We are grateful for the caring and commitment of our volunteers. They touch children's lives and make the world a little better and brighter every day!
