  • Devices remain in the classroom overnight. Students practice taking their device home periodically in preparation for inclement weather or e-learning day

  • Each student has an assigned device (Chromebook)

  • Students take them home 2-3 nights a week, depending on teacher discretion

6-12

  • Each student has an assigned device (Chromebook)

  • Students take them home every night and are expected to bring them back to school fully charged each day

Additional Care and Safety Tips

  1. Find a safe place for your student to store and charge their device each night, or when they bring it home.

  2. Make sure there is nothing on the keyboard before closing the lid.

  3. No food or drinks should be placed next to Chromebooks.

  4. Keep your Chromebook SECURE. Do not leave it unattended in public spaces.

  5. Never lift your Chromebook by the screen. And never place heavy objects on top of the Chromebook.

  6. For any student in K-1 and 6-8 all Chromebooks include a protective case. This case should remain on the Chromebooks at all times.

For more information on student expectations, see the Chromebook Care and Safety Tips Flyer and the Electronic Device Guidelines section of the Student Code of Conduct.

Chrome Depot

  • Each school has a dedicated workspace for the building’s Computer Technician, known as the Chrome Depot

  • Each Chrome Depot has a standard set of hours in which the technician is available to assist faculty and staff. Chrome Depots with Open Door policies are also available for student visits during specific hours when permitted by their teacher. Students must have a pass to enter.
