Champaign Unit 4 Schools partnered with Parkland College, Urbana School District 116 and the Community Coalition to recognize our community's Rising Stars! A Rising Star is a 5th-grade or 8th-grade African-American Student who has shown the academic potential to be successful in advanced courses at the next level (i.e., Honors, AP, AVID). More than 100 students from each school district was honored in a special ceremony.
The students were challenged to take the most rigorous courses which will maximize their college and career opportunities.
