International Prep Academy launched an engaging program for 6th to 8th graders that was inspired by the College and Career Readiness Department and our new PACE framework.

Students began by using the SchooLinks program to discover potential careers and celebrity matches, like Dora the Explorer. They participated in enrichment activities such as escape room challenges, budgeting for amusement park trips, and learning AVID strategies. Activities included exploring national parks, animation, fitness planning, language games, polymer science, and music production. We also introduced clubs based on student feedback, with the culinary arts club being popular as students grow vegetables for ratatouille. Other options include science, Lego robotics, Dungeons & Dragons, chess, anime, knitting, bracelet making, sports, and dance.

This program provides unique educational experiences, especially for those unable to join after-school activities. It’s rewarding to see students and teachers enjoying this time to learn more about themselves and strengthen relationships. We are excited about the positive impact on our school community and look forward to its success.
