Champaign Unit 4 Schools was honored with the Employer of the Year Award from Developmental Services Center Illinois (DSC). We currently employ three individuals from DSC: Michael, BJ, and Landon. Michael works at Southside Elementary School as a lunchroom supervisor. BJ works at Westview Elementary for the Kids Plus program as a recreation leader. Landon works at Robeson Elementary in the lunchroom, supervising students in transition from classroom to lunchroom.
DSC is a non-profit organization with a long history of providing services and support to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, currently serving approximately 1,100 people in Champaign and Ford counties.
The Employer of the Year Award recognized our District’s desire to employ all people and create an encouraging work environment for every employee. In presenting Unit 4 with the Employer of the Year Award, DSC Director of Development and Communications, Jodi Harmon stated, “You are living out one of your core values and dedication to your employees.” She also recognized Unit 4 for our inclusive work environment.
