Honor Roll

Both Unit 4 high schools were honored with special designations from the AP 2024 School Honor Roll. Central High School received the Silver designation and Centennial High School received the Bronze designation.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP (Advanced Placement) programs have successfully motivated and academically prepared students for college success. The criteria reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit and maximize college readiness.

Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.

In Unit 4, the number of students in the 2024 graduating class taking at least one AP exam increased from 45% in SY23 to 51% in SY24. The number of students earning a 3+ on any AP exam increased from 34% to 38%. The number of students taking at least five AP exams remained the same at 16%.

Congratulations to our high schools, AP and Honor students as well as our teachers who are with them every step of the way!
