CS/ED Week

December 8th, 2023

Dear Kenwood Families,

Happy Friday!  This week has been a celebration of our school’s Computer Science/Computational Thinking theme and thanks to the coordination by Mrs. Flodstrom, Kenwood’s Computer Science Coach, our students and staff celebrated Computer Science Education week. Students participated in coding robots, using algorithms for a variety of purposes including building binary key chains and creating magic dough in 1st grade. Our students also participated in the hour of code and demonstrated their computational thinking as they worked on code. This week also saw the winter benchmark for our MAP testing for all students as well. With this testing we were able to celebrate growth for our 1st through 5th grade students and an opportunity to take the MAP for our Kindergarten students.

Panorama Survey Results

Next week, our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will be participating in the winter administration of the Panorama survey. The Panorama survey measures how students perceive their Social Emotional Skills as well as students perceptions of the school environment. This survey is a follow up to our September survey and we look forward to looking at the growth of our students.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Dr. Trevor Nadrozny

Principal
