Dear Kenwood Families,

Welcome Back! It was great to see all of our students and families this week and we’ve had a great start to our week. Students have been excited to be back. This coming week we will not be in school on Monday, January 15th in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. As we look ahead there is a possibility of severe cold weather for our area and this may also change our plans for school on Tuesday, January 16th. In preparation for this possibility, our teachers will be sending student Chromebooks home today for a possible eLearning day. If the district announces an eLearning day students will be attending school on-line through either Google Meets or Zoom for 2.5 hours. The following link provides details of how to help your child access their Google Meets classroom experience.

Teachers will also offer virtual office hours to help answer any questions about assignments or projects that will be provided outside of the on-line time. The projects or assignments may come home today in packets or will be provided online on your child’s Google Classroom. The schedule for eLearning is as follows:

8:00 - 10:30am: On-line (Synchronous Learning) - Links for this online learning will be found on each teacher’s Google classroom.

11:30 - 12:30pm:  Virtual Office Hours for teachers

12:30 - 3:00pm:  Off line learning (Asynchronous Learning) assignments or projects.

To learn if our district will be doing an eLearning day please listen to local TV and Radio as well as visiting the Champaign Unit 4 website (champaignschools.org).

Have a great long weekend!

Sincerely,

Dr. Trevor Nadrozny

Principal
