Dear Kenwood Families,
Happy Friday! This week we were able to enjoy a full week with our students and we have had a number of visitors to Kenwood. We welcomed our school board president, Dr. Baker to Kenwood last week and she gave out shout out to Kenwood teachers, Mrs. Currie and Mr. Dreste for the great things happening in their classrooms. We also had a number of principals do a walk through with me to help learn about our school and provide feedback on our practices. During their visit, they all agreed that the culture and climate of Kenwood was one that was welcoming and inviting for students and visitors. This past week, I was also fortunate to attend a SAM’s leadership conference and I was able to bring back some ideas to help continue to support our students and teachers.
Next Friday, we are excited to celebrate the Lunar New Year at Kenwood and the Year of the Dragon. Mrs. Markus and our Equity committee have organized the Lunar New Year events for Friday and we look to include many of our students in this parade. Just a reminder that Monday, Feb. 5th is our early dismissal day and students will be dismissing at 12:50pm.
