100th Day Celebrations

February 9th, 2024

Dear Kenwood Families,

Happy Lunar New Year! This week our Kindergarten students celebrated 100 days of learning and our wonderful Kindergarten teacher (Ms. Yoo, Mrs. Kirby, and Mrs. Dunford) planned a number of fun activities to commemorate this exciting day. Today, we are celebrating the Lunar New Year at Kenwood with an all school assembly as we watch a Vietnamese student group “Blossom” from Kenwood, Barkstall, and Westview performing two dances to celebrate the Lunar New Year. We will conclude the assembly and celebrate with a Lunar New Year parade through the hallways. We invite you to both of these events starting at 1:45pm.  On Monday, we also invite parents to join us for NAAPID day as we look forward to seeing parents during our breakfast from 7:40 am until 8:00 am and also during our lunch. See the attached flier for specific lunch times for each grade level. We welcome you to Kenwood.

5 Essentials Survey

Beginning January 30 until March 29th, 2024, students and teachers across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the eleventh annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of our school. As a parent/guardian, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about Kenwood. For a more detailed overview of the 5 Essentials survey please see the link above. You can access the parent portion of the survey at the following web address.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Dr. Trevor Nadrozny
