Volume Zoo

April 5th, 2024

Dear Kenwood Families,

Happy Friday! This has been a busy week for our students as we’ve been learning about the upcoming Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8th. All students and adults at Kenwood will have solar viewers for safely viewing the eclipse. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be watching the eclipse in smaller groups to ensure their safety and supervision by our adults. Below are a few resources that provide more information about the upcoming eclipse including what it looks like and the path of the eclipse.

In addition to learning about the eclipse this week, our Kindergarten students have been journaling about the Pilgrims voyage in their CKLA reading and writing block. Our 2nd grade students have been learning about erosion in Science and have been experimenting with the effects of water on landforms. In 5th grade, Mrs. Hopper’s class created a volume zoo as they built animals and determined their volume as part of their math unit. Also be aware of our upcoming Spring holiday on Wednesday, April 10th. We look forward to spring weather after the snow flurries yesterday.

Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Dr. Trevor Nadrozny

Principal
