Dear Kenwood Families,
Happy Arbor Day Friday! This past week we had many Earth Day inspired projects across all grade levels. We also had a number of grade levels participating in Earth friendly activities such as picking up trash around the playground and also working in our courtyard gardens. In May we are excited to invite parents to each with their students during lunch. We will be inviting our Kindergarten and 1st grade parents to join students. A flier with more information is included below. If you have not already done so please be sure to complete your child’s registration for the 2024-25 school year.
Lost and Found Items
Through the year, we have accumulated several clothing items (jackets and sweaters) that have been left on the playground during recess or in the lunchroom. We have placed these items in the hallway for students to identify, but still have a number of items. We will be donating them to our clothing closet on May 10th. If you would like to see if any of these items belong to your child please feel free to come to check out our lost and found.
Jefferson Middle school will be hosting an open house for incoming 6th grade students on May 2nd from 6 to 7pm. Feel free to attend for a chance to tour the school and meet staff.
Kindergarten and Returning Student Registration (Feb. 27th through May 30th)
If you have not done so please be sure to register your students for class. Kindergarten students register at the Family and Community Engagement, 703 S. New Street call 217-373-7311 to schedule an appointment.
