Week #2

August 23rd, 2024

Dear Kenwood Families,

Happy Friday! This week we welcomed over 20 new students to our school. We were excited to meet many new families and students as we completed our second week of school. We are digging into our curriculum as students are showing what they know. I wanted to share a couple of reminders and upcoming testing events:

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

I wanted to remind families of our arrival and dismissal procedures. All car riders should be dropping off students in our circle drive in front of the school. All bus traffic will be using the large parking lot to the North of our school. Car riders are not permitted to drop off in the large lot as this blocks bus traffic. Thank you for your attention as this helps protect the safety of our students.

MAP Testing (1st through 5th grade)

Next week, our students will be completing the MAP test which is a nationally normed test in the areas of Reading and Mathematics. This test is given in the Fall, Winter and Spring and our teachers use the results of this information to look at the current academic performance of our students. Teachers will use this information in their instructional planning to best meet the needs of our students. You can look forward to learning more about your child’s MAP scores and information at parent teacher conferences in September. I’ve included a parent guide to MAP for your information.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Dr. Nadrozny
