Dear Kenwood Families,
Happy Friday! Feliz mes de la herencia Hispana! Last Friday, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a special presentation with our friends at the Lemann Center for Brazilian Studies at the University of Illinois. We also had a special presentation by one of our resident artists, Mr. Pete Shungu who played his trumpet for our students. Students enjoyed listening and dancing to some of the different Brazilian song performances. Thanks to both of our MLL teachers, Mrs. Markus and Mrs. Shungu for helping to organize this event.
Grade Level Family Nights
This year, we are excited to bring back a family event from several years ago. We are introducing our Grade Level Family Nights that bring our families together from each of the different grades to participate in a fun activity with families and staff. Over the course of the year, we will be inviting families from each grade level to participate in an event hosted at Kenwood. We are hosting our first Family Night on Monday, Sept 30th for the families of 2nd grade students. We look forward to seeing you there from 6 until 7pm.
Oct. 3rd: Fall Holiday - School Closed
On Thursday, Oct. 3rd, Unit 4 Schools will be closed in observance of our Fall Holiday. Shanah tovah umtukah to our families celebrating Rosh Hashanah.

In a few short weeks, we will be having our fall parent teacher conferences on Thursday, Oct. 10th and Friday, Oct. 11th.
