Dear Kenwood Families,
Happy Friday! This past week we hosted our 2nd grade family night and had a very impressive turnout of our 2nd grade families. Our families enjoyed some time playing some of the classic games like Kerplunk, and Jenga, having some snacks, visiting the courtyard and a very popular version of Jeopardy. Jeopardy was hosted by Mr. Acampora and pitted our 2nd Students versus their Parents including topics such as CKLA skills and Teacher Trivia. A big thanks to our 2nd grade teachers for hosting this fun night. We have a number of events happening this next week.
Early Out, Oct. 7th
Just a reminder that our students will be getting out at 12:50pm on Monday, Oct. 7th. The purpose of the early out is professional development for our staff.
Cross Country Race, Oct. 8th
Our Kenwood Cross country race is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8th. This is a long standing Kenwood tradition and we look forward to cheering on and watching our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students race. You are invited to come by to cheer on our students. The race times for each grade are below:
4th/5th Grade: 8:15am
3rd Grade: 9:10am
2nd Grade: 9:55am

Oct. 10th, 3-7pm & Oct. 11th, 8-11am

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Kenwood! This is a great opportunity to connect with
your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that
kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading
leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.

Kenwood PTA Trunk or Treat, Oct. 24th, 6-7pm
The Kenwood PTA is sponsoring the annual Trunk or Treat that will be taking place on the Blacktop on the North side of the school. We are going to be looking for Trunks to help provide treats. Please use the link below to sign up for a slot.
