Dear Kenwood Families,
Happy Friday! It has been a busy first week back from our Fall break as we’ve enjoyed a number of fun events at Kenwood. On Tuesday, we had our Fall Festival at Centennial Park. Thank you to those who were able to make it out for this fun event. We were able to enjoy some food, and fun. We had games, face painting with Ms. Jo, our Art teacher and balloon animals with Mr. Vic, one of our FLS teacher aides. Thanks to our committee members who helped make this event possible and to all the families who were able to attend.
This past Wednesday, Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation (CUSF) board member, Jeff Scott (CEO of the YMCA) stopped by to give out some ‘big’ checks to all of our CUSF grant receipts. Five staff members wrote grants totalling close to $2000 for everything from drums, pickleball equipment, to SEL curriculum, graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction books. Congratulations to the following grant recipients:

Last night, we celebrated another Kenwood tradition as our PTA hosted the annual Trunk or Treat! We received a large turn out and thank you to all of our parents and staff members who hosted trunks and treats for our students. Next week, we are excited to host the 4th grade Family Fun Night on Wednesday evening from 6-7pm at Kenwood. We look forward to seeing you there.
