Kenwood Courtyard Gardens

April 17th, 2025

Dear Kenwood Families,

Happy Thursday!

We have had a busy ‘short’ week with many things happening around Kenwood this week. Spring is here and with that we’ve had some recent additions to Kenwood in the form of chicks as part of Science in 2nd and 4th grade classrooms. We’ve enjoyed watching our chicks hatch and they will be soon leaving the ‘Kenwood Coop.’ Our 2nd grade students in Mrs. Norcross’s class and the Nature Club have also been busy working in the Kenwood Courtyard gardens getting them ready. Today, we have a dedication ceremony for Nova Young, former 1st grade student at Kenwood who passed away in 2023. We look forward to welcoming her family, Superintendent Boozer and our 3rd grade students to this special ceremony on our small playground to honor her memory. School is not in session tomorrow in observance of the Spring holiday. Happy Easter to all who celebrate this holiday and have a wonderful long weekend.

Friday, April 18th - No school

Teacher Request Letter

At this point each year, students, staff and parents begin to look ahead to class placements for next year.  Many factors go into placing students into classrooms.  To make the most informed decisions to best meet the learning needs of our students, I consider input from parents and guardians in this process. While it may be difficult to honor all parent requests for specific teachers, I will welcome a letter from you to provide input. Please send a letter or email (nadroztr@u4sd.org) by Thursday, May 1st, 2025. Letters received after May 1st  will not be given consideration as we will have moved to the next step in the classroom assignment process.

Have a great weekend,

Dr. Trevor Nadrozny
