This award is an initiative by the Big Ten Conference and College Football Playoff Foundation (CFPF) called "Extra Yard for Teachers Week". The CFPF aims to support PK-12 education by elevating the teaching profession with resources, recognition programs, professional development opportunities, and more. This specific initiative aims to provide an exceptional teacher in our local communities with $1,000.

Surprise! Two Fighting Illini football players dropped by Booker T. Washington Academy today for a special delivery and a quick game of catch with students. Wide Receiver Pat Bryant and Linebacker Kenenna Odeluga wanted to do something special with some of their NIL (name, image, likeness) earnings. They chose to donate 75 backpacks containing $25 gift cards for school supplies. Thank you!

A big thank you to Serra Subaru of Champaign for a special donation to Franklin STEAM Academy through the AdoptAClassroom program (https://www.adoptaclassroom.org/). Their generous donation provided for 15 teachers to each receive free classroom supplies and $500 to spend to outfit their classrooms. We are grateful to Serra Subaru for this amazing gift to Franklin for the last three years.
